Senior outfielder Sean Ring (Hilliard/Davidson) drove in the Ohio Wesleyan run in a non-conference loss to Wooster on Friday in Port Charlotte, Fla.

The Fighting Scots broke a scoreless tie with 4 runs in the top of the fifth, then added 4 runs in the top of the seventh for an 8-0 lead.

Ohio Wesleyan got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the eighth when freshman third baseman Jared Turner (Versailles) drew a walk, junior second baseman Jerrell Johnson (Shaker Heights) singled and Ring singled home Turner.

Wooster wrapped up the scoring with 2 runs in the top of the ninth.

Junior righthander Xander Jones (Pomfret, Conn./Pomfret School) was the starting and losing pitcher for Ohio Wesleyan. Freshman righthander Matthew Struble (Defiance/Edon) relieved in the seventh inning.

Adam Samson started on the mound for Wooster and pitched 6.0 shutout innings.
Tanner Hall relieved in the seventh and John Warren pitched a scoreless ninth.
