9th of 10 at Lee Nissan-Barton College Intercollegiate

March 12-13, 2007

Sophomore Jeff Nieman (Maineville/Cincinnati Moeller) led the Bishops at the Lee Nissan-Barton College Intercollegiate tournament, hosted by Barton College on Monday and Tuesday in Wilson, N.C.

Ohio Wesleyan finished ninth among the 10 varsity teams competing in the tournament.

Cape Fear CC won the tournament with a 602, followed by host Barton at 619. Laval finished third with a 624, followed by Washington & Lee (627), Pfeiffer, Christopher Newport and Charleston (631), Concord (634) and Mount Olive (636). Ohio Wesleyan finished 10th with a 647, followed by Pitt CC (650), Johnston CC (727) and Chowan (758).

Nieman finished in a tie for 16th place among individuals with a 155. Sophomore Kyle Martin (Dublin/Wellington) and senior Doug McCullough (Sleepy Hollow, Ill./St. Edward) tied for 55th place at 165, junior Rory Hotaling (Yellow Springs) tied for 63rd place with a 167, and freshman Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) finished in 68th place with a 169.
