Salisbury 21, Ohio Wesleyan 5

Eric Bishop scored 3 goals as top-ranked Salisbury broke to a 7-0 first-quarter lead and went on to defeat Ohio Wesleyan in non-conference play on Sunday at Salisbury, Md.

The Sea Gulls got on the scoreboard on Kylor Berkman's goal less than a minute into the contest, then scored twice in a span of 48 seconds to stretch the lead to 3-0. Bishop scored his first goal with 9:21 left in the quarter, then followed with a man-up goal at the 8:04 mark and finished off Salisbury's 7-0 first-quarter run with a goal with 3:49 to go.

Hickman scored twice during the second quarter as Salisbury extended its lead to 12-0 before freshman attacker Rob Young (Langhorne, Pa./Council Rock South) put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard with a man-up goal with 6:31 left in the quarter, but the Sea Gulls added 2 more goals to take a 14-1 halftime lead.

Junior midfielder Chris Eccles (Secane, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) led the Bishops with 3 goals and an assist, while Young added another score during the fourth quarter to finish with 2 goals.

Junior Ryan Perone (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep) had 16 saves in 58-plus minutes of action in the Bishop goal. Freshman Gavin Bennett (Lebanon, N.J./The Millbrook (N.Y.) School) was not tested during the final 1:23.

Hickman led the Sea Gulls with 4 goals and an assist, while Bishop and Greg Titus each contributed 3 goals and 2 assists and Matt Dasinger scored 3 goals.

Max Zarchin played 34 minutes in the Salisbury goal, recording 3 saves. Riley Clark had 2 saves in 21 minutes and Tim Swinburn played the final 4 minutes for the Sea Gulls.
