[ Harrison Iuliano ]Junior midfielder Harrison Iuliano (Mendham, N.J./Blair Academy) scored to break a 4-4 tie and kick off a 15-0 game-ending run that lifted Ohio Wesleyan over Washington & Jefferson in non-conference action on Wednesday in Washington, Pa.

The Bishops had taken a 3-0 first-quarter lead, with junior midfielder Steve Fowler (Wilton, Conn.) scoring off a pass from junior midfielder Chris Eccles (Secane, Pa./Monsignor Bonner), then Eccles scoring twice off feeds by Iuliano.

Washington & Jefferson got on the scoreboard with a goal by Tim Huckestein, but the Bishops answered when Eccles fed sophomore attacker Dave Castignola (Dublin/Scioto) for a score that made it a 4-1 game with 2:10 left in the first quarter.

The Presidents closed to within 4-3 as Dan Rosenberg scored 25 seconds later and Kyle Worthley scored with :01 left in the first period, then tied the game at 4-4 on Chris Vogel's man-up goal with 10:16 to go in the first half.

Iuliano put the Bishops ahead to stay with an unassisted goal midway through the second quarter, and sophomore attacker Karl Zimmerman (Utica, Mich./Brother Rice) and Eccles added scored for a 7-4 Ohio Wesleyan lead at halftime.

The Bishop defense took over from there, blanking the Presidents during the second half while allowing only 3 shots during that span.

Meanwhile, sophomore attacker Eric Turner (Columbus/Dublin Scioto) scored twice and Eccles had a goal and 2 assists as the Bishops racked up 6 goals in the third quarter, and Ohio Wesleyan iced the game with goals by 6 different players during the fourth quarter.

Eccles led the Bishops with 4 goals and 4 assists. Iuliano finished with 2 goals and 3 assists, Turner totaled 3 goals and an assist, and Castignola, Fowler and freshman attacker Rob Young (Langhorne, Pa./Council Rock South) scored 2 goals apiece.

Junior Ryan Perone (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep) had 3 saves during the first 54-plus minutes, while freshman Gavin Bennett (Lebanon, N.J./The Millbrook (N.Y.) School) had 2 saves during the final 5 minutes.

Andrew Reid was credited with 11 saves in 51 minutes in the W&J goal, and Brad Lowery had 2 saves during the final 8-plus minutes.
