6th of 8 at Dayton Flyer 5K Challenge

Senior Matt Kempton (Fredericktown) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Dayton Flyer 5K Challenge on Saturday at Indian Riffle Park in Dayton.

Ohio Wesleyan was the only NCAA Division III institution represented in the meet.
Miami University won the meet with 25 points to 85 for host Dayton. Northern Kentucky finished third with 90 points, followed by Morehead State (109), Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis (117), Ohio Wesleyan (140), Xavier (146) and Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne (209).

Kempton finished 22nd among individuals, covering the 5000-meter course in 16:04.

Sophomore Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman) finished 32nd in 16:23, senior Kevin Goehring (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) placed 33rd in 16:25, senior Will Crabtree (Winchester, Mass.) was 38th in 16:34 and senior Seth Moore (Xenia/Yellow Springs) wrapped up the Bishop scoring with a 44th-place finish in 16:40.

Sophomore David Stefanik (Wooster) placed 49th in 16:50 and junior Pete MacLeod (Hudson) was 64th in 17:12.
