1st of 7 at Marietta

Sophomore Alex Havran (Woodinville, Wash./Overlake) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Carl Broughton Invitational, hosted by Marietta College on Saturday in Marietta.

Ohio Wesleyan won the meet with 50 points to 52 for Alderson-Broaddus. Wooster finished third with 62 points, followed by Marietta (85), Muskingum (100), Fairmont State (159) and Ohio Valley (220).

Havran finished fourth among individuals, covering the 8000-meter course in 28:44.

Junior Pete MacLeod (Hudson) placed seventh in 28:55, sophomore David Stefanik (Wooster) was ninth in 29:15, freshman Christian Schlabach (Wooster/Triway) finished 10th in 29:16 and sophomore Scott Williams (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) rounded out the Ohio Wesleyan scoring by placing 20th in 30:01.

Sophomore Gary Brenneman (Fredericktown) finished 22nd in 30:13 and junior Joe Berlyoung (Elyria/Avon) was 28th in 30:48.
