4th of 17 at Carnegie-Mellon Invitational

Senior Matt Kempton (Fredericktown) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Carnegie-Mellon Invitational, hosted by Carnegie-Mellon University at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.

Carnegie-Mellon won the meet with 33 points to 43 points for Mount Union. George Washington was third among varsity teams with a score of 113, followed by Ohio Wesleyan (127), St. Vincent (146), Baldwin-Wallace (151) and Geneva (237). Duquesne rounded out the top 10 with 250 points, followed by St. Francis (253), Grove City (262), Notre Dame (324), Washington & Jefferson (355), Roanoke (359), Waynesburg (388), Seton Hill (421), Point Park (446) and Franciscan (461).

Kempton finished 15th among individuals, covering the 8000-meter course in 26:34.20.

Senior Will Crabtree (Winchester, Mass.) finished 23rd in 26:49.24, sophomore David Stefanik (Wooster) placed 24th in 26:50.43, sophomore Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman) was 50th in 27:18.81 and senior Seth Moore (Xenia/Yellow Springs) completed the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 55th-place finish in 27:30.38.

Senior Kevin Goehring (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) was 60th in 27:33.38 and sophomore Garret Andre-Johnson (Walnut Creek, Calif./Berkeley) placed 69th in 27:42.57.
