Ohio Wesleyan 96, Hiram 54

Senior wing Rachel Messaros (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) scored a career-high 28 points and junior wing Steffi Graf (Poland/Seminary) matched her career best of 26 points to lead Ohio Wesleyan to a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Hiram on Wednesday in Hiram.

Cassie Bedard and Tania Carman scored baskets to give the Terriers an early 4-2 lead, but the Bishops reeled off the next 13 points. Graf buried a 3-pointer to put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay, junior wing Lindsey Macklin (Columbus/Bexley) hit a bucket, Graf added another 3-pointer, Messaros hit a jumper from the lane and Graf hit a pair of free throws to cap the run and give Ohio Wesleyan a 15-4 lead less than 6 minutes into the game.

Hiram closed to within 17-10 on a tip-in by Alex Dellas with 10:53 left in the half, but sophomore post Katie Hamilton (Hilliard/Darby) hit a jumper and a pair of free throws to stretch the Bishop lead to 21-10.

Stephanie Zunic's fast-break lay-in brought Hiram within 21-12, but Graf answered with another 3-pointer, and the lead would remain in double digits for the remainder of the game.

Ohio Wesleyan took a 46-23 lead on Messaros' 3-pointer late in the half, and the Bishops would lead by as many as 44 points during the second half.

Messaros led the Bishops with a career-high 28 points, while Graf's 26 points matched her career best. Macklin finished with 14 points, equaling her career best, and led the Bishops with career highs of 13 rebounds and 7 assists.

Bedard scored 17 points to lead Hiram. Carman led the Terriers with 6 rebounds, and Brittany Mayle led Hiram with 6 assists.
