6th of 19 at Carnegie-Mellon Invitational

Sophomore Catie Coleman (Medina/Lodi Cloverleaf) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Carnegie-Mellon Invitational, hosted by Carnegie-Mellon University at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.

George Washington won the meet, finishing with 72 points to 99 for second-place St. Francis. Pittsburgh was third among varsity teams with a score of 110, followed by Baldwin-Wallace (126), Denison (145), Ohio Wesleyan (147), Geneva (195) and Carnegie-Mellon (218). Mount Union rounded out the top 10 with a score of 220, followed by Robert Morris (268), Grove City (272), Roanoke (321), Waynesburg (358), Seton Hill (377), Franciscan (383), Notre Dame (459), Washington & Jefferson (490), Bethany (535) and Point Park (589).

Coleman finished 12th among individuals, completing the 5000-meter course in a time of 19:14.80.

Freshman Sarah Shinn (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) finished 25th in 19:36.31, sophomore Valerie Sloboda (Columbia, Md./Atholton) placed 34th in 19:48.06, sophomore Leah Schmelzer (Marion/Pleasant) was 44th in 19:58.59 and freshman Claire Everhart (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) finished off the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 50th-place finish in 20:08.24.

Sophomore Laura Binkley (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) finished 82nd in 20:53.59 and senior Amanda Husted (Springfield/Greenon) was 87th in 20:57.13.
