Bishops' Jones, Boryczewski Named to
All-Region Field Hockey Teams

[ Katie Jones ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University seniors Katie Jones (Pine Plains, N.Y./Stissing Mountain) and Diana Boryczewski (Kensington, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region teams, it was announced today.

Jones was a first-team all-region selection, while Boryczewski was a second-team all-region choice.

Jones, the Battling Bishops' goalkeeper, started all 17 games in the Ohio Wesleyan cage. She compiled a saves percentage of .865, which leads the North Coast Athletic Conference, and 4 shutouts, which is tied for second in the NCAC. Jones was a second-team all-region pick in 2005.

Boryczewski, a starting defender for the Bishops, anchored an Ohio Wesleyan defense which allowed a league-low 22 goals this season. She also contributed on the offensive end, compiling 4 goals and an assist to rank third on the team in scoring.

Ohio Wesleyan finished the season with a 10-7 record. The Battling Bishops finished with a 7-5 record in NCAC competition, tying for fourth place in the final league standings.
