![]() at Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate March 28, 2008 Berry College was leading the field with a 10-under-par 270, followed by Savannah Art & Design at 275. Webber International was third at 278, followed by Bridgewater and Thomas (282); Shorter, California (Pa.) and Washington & Lee (283), and Averett (288). Methodist rounded out the top 10 with a 289, followed by Virginia Wesleyan (293), Christopher Newport (295), Fayetteville State (296), Oglethorpe (297), Clarion (300), Ohio Wesleyan (301), West Virginia Wesleyan (302), Shenandoah (304), and Guilford (305). Embry-Riddle completed the top 20 collegiate teams with a 309, followed by Hampden-Sydney and Concord (310), Lynchburg (312), Randolph-Macon (313), Millersville (314), DePauw (316), New York University and Reinhardt (318). The tournament is played on two courses, with each team playing one round on the Paradise Point Scarlet course and one round on the Paradise Point Gold course. The top half of the field after the second round goes on to play the third round on the Gold course and the bottom half plays the third round on the Scarlet course. Benner fired a 71 to tie for 26th place among individuals. Junior Jeff Nieman (Maineville/Cincinnati Moeller) and junior Andy Schillig (Pataskala/Licking Heights) were tied for 68th place at 75, sophomore Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) was tied for 120th place with an 80, and sophomore Tommy Harman (Perrysburg) was tied for 134th place at 81. The tournament's second round was scheduled for Saturday. |
