[ Tommy Harman ]Sophomore Tommy Harman (Perrysburg) set a school record and sophomore Jordan Benner (Beavercreek) was leading Ohio Wesleyan as the Bishops compiled a record-tying round to jump into third place in the team standings after the second round of the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Invitational on Saturday at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Methodist took over the lead in the team standings at 554, shooting a second-round 265 to turn a 19-shot deficit after Friday's first round into a 19-stroke lead after Saturday. Berry, which had led after the first round, was second at 573. Ohio Wesleyan moved into third place with a 578, followed by Fayetteville State (579), Oglethorpe (580), Savannah Art & Design (583), Shorter (584), Webber International (584) and Guilford and Thomas (584). Washington & Lee was in 11th place with a 587, followed by Bridgewater (590), Hampden-Sydney (594), Embry-Riddle (596), Concord (599), Averett (601), Lynchburg (605), California (Pa.) (606), and Millersville (607). DePauw rounded out the top 20 with a 607, followed by Reinhardt (609), Randolph-Macon and Virginia Wesleyan (611), New York (612), Louisburg (614), Christopher Newport (617), Clarion (623), West Virginia Wesleyan (631), and Shenandoah (637).

The tournament is played on two courses, with each team playing one round on the Paradise Point Scarlet course and one round on the Paradise Point Gold course. The top half of the field after the second round goes on to play the third round on the Gold course and the bottom half plays the third round on the Scarlet course.

Harman shot a second-round 65, breaking the school record of 66 strokes for 18 holes set by Chad Poling at the PGA of Southern California during the 2004 NCAA Division III championship. Harman had a total of 146 after the second round.

Benner shot a second-round 70 and was tied for fifth place among individuals at 141.

Junior Jeff Nieman (Maineville/Cincinnati Moeller) was at 147 after the second round, while junior Andy Schillig (Pataskala/Licking Heights) had a 149 and sophomore Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) had a 150.

Ohio Wesleyan's second-round total of 277 tied the school record for 18 holes set last year by the Bishops, also at the Paradise Point Scarlet course.

The tournament's third round was scheduled for Sunday, with Ohio Wesleyan scheduled to return to the Paradise Point Gold course.
