at Wooster Nye Intercollegiate

[ Jeff Nieman ]Junior Jeff Nieman (Maineville/Cincinnati Moeller) was leading Ohio Wesleyan after the first round of the Nye Intercollegiate, hosted by the College of Wooster on Saturday in Wooster.

Ohio Wesleyan was leading the tournament with a 303, 3 shots ahead of Olivet. Denison was in third place at 312, followed by Wooster (313), Allegheny (316), Muskingum (320), Wittenberg (321), Notre Dame (328), Wabash (334), Hiram (344), Kenyon (348) and Oberlin (358).

Nieman was tied for second among individuals with a 73.

Sophomore Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) was tied for fifth place at 75, sophomore Tommy Harman (Perrysburg) was tied for eighth place with a 76, sophomore Jordan Benner (Beavercreek) was tied for 20th place at 79, and junior Kyle Martin (Dublin/Wellington) was tied for 22nd place with an 80.

Junior Andy Schillig (Pataskala/Licking Heights), competing as an individual, had the individual lead after the first round with a 72.

The tournament's second round is scheduled for Sunday.
