2nd of 6 at Fred B. Kravetz Invitational

[ Andy Schillig ]Junior Andy Schillig (Pataskala/Licking Heights) led the Bishops at the Fred B. Kravetz Invitational, hosted by the University of Rochester on Friday and Saturday at the Oak Hill Country Club West Course and Irondequoit Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.

The second day of the tournament was shortened to 9 holes at Irondequoit Country Club when thunderstorms and torrential rains forced the golfers into the clubhouse before the conclusion of the second round, and the coaches decided to use the front 9 holes only.

St. John Fisher won the tournament with a 428, 16 shots ahead of Ohio Wesleyan. Wisconsin-Eau Claire finished third with a 447, followed by Skidmore (449), Rochester (459), and Nebraska Wesleyan (460).

Schillig finished with a 106, finishing one shot behind Scott Harris of St. John Fisher for medalist honors.

Sophomore Tommy Harman (Perrysburg) tied for third place with a 107, junior Jeff Nieman (Maineville/Cincinnati Moeller) finished 15th with a 115, sophomore Jordan Benner (Beavercreek) tied for 21st place at 117, and sophomore Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) tied for 23rd place with a 118.
