Junior Jeff Nieman (Maineville/Cincinnati Moeller) and sophomore Tommy Harman (Perrysburg) were leading Ohio Wesleyan after the first round of the Kenyon College Invitational, hosted by Kenyon College on Saturday at Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard.
The 36-hole event is the first of 3 regular-season tournaments which count toward determining the North Coast Athletic Conference's automatic qualifer for the NCAA Division III championships.
Allegheny was leading the tournament with a 297 to Ohio Wesleyan's 301. Wooster was in third place with a 310, followed by Denison (311), Wittenberg (318), Wabash (325), Hiram (337) and Kenyon (340).
Nieman and Harman were tied for fourth place among individuals, each with an 2-over-par 74.
Junior Adam Claytor (Columbus/Wellington) was tied for ninth place at 76, junior Andy Schillig (Pataskala/Licking
Heights) carded a 77 and sophomore Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) finished with an 80.
The tournament's second round is scheduled for Sunday.
