at Denison Fall Classic

[ Jordan Benner ]Sophomore Jordan Benner (Beavercreek) was leading Ohio Wesleyan after the first round of the Denison Fall Classic, hosted by Denison University on Saturday at the Granville Golf Course in Granville.

John Carroll and Denison shared the first-round lead at 294, with Otterbein in third place at 298 and Ohio Wesleyan in fourth place at 299. Baldwin-Wallace was in fifth place with a 301, followed by Muskingum and Mount Union (305), Wittenberg (307), Wooster (321) and Heidelberg (327).

Benner was in ninth place among individuals with a 72, followed by junior Andy Schillig (Pataskala/Licking Heights), who was tied for 10th place with a 73. Sophomore Tommy Harman (Perrysburg), junior Kyle Martin (Dublin/Wellington) and junior Jeff Nieman (Maineville/Cincinnati Moeller) were tied for 29th place, each with a 77.

Junior Adam Claytor (Columbus/Wellington), competing as an individual, fired a first-round 68 to share the tournament's individual lead.

The tournament's second round is scheduled for Sunday.
