[ Dustin Rudegeair ]Senior post Dustin Rudegeair (Yellow Springs) and junior wing Kyle Miller (Delaware/Hayes) hit 3-pointers during a 9-0 run that helped Ohio Wesleyan open up a double-digit lead, and Rudegeair added a pair of baskets during an 11-1 burst that extended the Bishop lead to 20 points as Ohio Wesleyan defeated Hiram in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Saturday in Hiram.

The Terriers were within 9-7 after Nick Russo scored with 17:39 left in the first half when the Bishops took off on their first run.

Senior post Jesse Jean (Alexandria, Va./Hyde (Conn.) School) started things off with a tip-in and senior guard Casey Teeters (Westerville/Columbus St. Charles) hit the first of 2 free throws before Rudegeair and Miller canned 3-pointers to give the Bishops an 18-7 lead.

Jason Hebeisen canned a jumper with 9:54 left in the half to end a Hiram scoring drought of nearly 8 minutes, and the Terriers were still within 24-14 on a fast break lay-in by Babajide Eniola with 7:53 to go in the period.

Junior wing Kyle Holliday (Van Wert) answered with a 3-pointer, Rudegeair hit back-to-back jumpers from the lane, Teeters added a lay-in and senior wing Brian Cafarella (Westerville/North) nailed a 3-pointer that gave Ohio Wesleyan a 36-15 with less than 5 minutes left in the half, and the Terriers would not threaten again.

Rudegeair led the Bishops with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Holliday finished with 13 points and shared the team lead with 4 assists, freshman post Andrew Martin (New Albany) scored 11 points and Jean added 10 points. Teeters also shared the Bishop lead with 4 assists.

Mike Staley led the Terriers with 17 points. Mike McDevitt added 11 points and Hebeisen grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
