Earlham had pulled within 10-6 on Nick Welsh's lay-in with 15:41 left in the first half when the Bishops reeled off the next 8 points, getting baskets from Jean, senior wing Brian Cafarella (Westerville/North), senior post Dustin Rudegeair (Yellow Springs) and junior wing Kyle Holliday (Van Wert) to take an 18-6 lead with 12:42 to play in the period.

Junior wing Kyle Miller (Delaware/Hayes) followed with a jumper on the break, and Jean followed with a jumper, then kicked the ball out to Cafarella for a 3-pointer on the Bishops' next possession. Freshman wing Dillon McBride (Medina) finished off the run with a 3-pointer that gave Ohio Wesleyan a 37-17 lead with 1:41 left in the first half.

Earlham's Tristian Gregory hit 2 free throws with 1:16 left to make it a 37-19 game, and those would be the only points of the day for the NCAC's leading scorer.
