![]() Ohio Wesleyan 82, Oberlin 58 Feb. 20, 2008 The Bishops had taken a 5-0 lead on a pair of free throws by senior post Dustin Rudegeair (Yellow Springs) and a 3-pointer by senior guard Casey Teeters (Westerville/Columbus St. Charles), and a pair of free throws by junior wing Kyle Holliday (Van Wert) and a Teeters 3-pointer highlighted a 7-0 Bishop run that extended the lead into double digits at 15-4 with 13:09 left in the first half. Oberlin kept within striking distance, cutting the margin to 25-16 on Colin Sallee's jumper with 3:53 left in the period, when the Bishops took off on their 11-0 run. Cafarella answered Sallee's basket with a 3-pointer, and Teeters followed with a pair of free throws. Holliday added a lay-in before junior wing Kyle Miller (Delaware/Hayes) stole the ball and went in for a lay-in. A pair of Rudegeair free throws capped the Ohio Wesleyan spree, making it a 36-16 game with 1:19 left in the period. Cafarella hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first 66 seconds of the second half, stretching the Ohio Wesleyan lead to 25 points, and later added another pair of 3-pointers in a span of a minute, giving the Bishops a 58-24 advantage with 15:41 to go, and from there, the Yeomen would not come closer than the 24-point final margin. Cafarella led the Bishops with 23 points, going 7-for-8 from 3-point range. Teeters finished with 12 points and a team-high 7 assists. Rudegeair and senior post Jesse Jean (Alexandria, Va./Hyde (Conn.) School) grabbed 10 rebounds apiece. Ryan Magiera led the Yeomen with 18 points and 11 rebounds. |
