![]() Gettysburg 12, Ohio Wesleyan 7 March 12, 2008 Tommy Kehoe put the Bullets on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal and Dyer added an unassisted goal as Gettysburg held a 2-0 lead after the first quarter. Dyer then fed Jared Harriman for a score less than 20 seconds into the second period, and goals by Danny Collura, Zach Pucci and Ben Sufrin gave Gettysburg a 6-0 lead with 4:08 left in the first half. Sophomore midfielder Craig Aronoff (Potomac, Md./The Bullis School) responded with a goal just 11 seconds later to end the Bishop drought, and after the Bullets' Drew Duckworth scored early in the third quarter, Ohio Wesleyan reeled off scores by sophomore midfielder Chaz Narwicz (Yardley, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep), senior midfielder Steve Fowler (Wilton, Conn.) and junior attacker Nick Gallagher (Columbus/Dublin Scioto) to pull within 7-4 with 5:37 left in the third quarter. The Bishops were still within 8-5 after Fowler scored early in the fourth quarter, but Gettysburg put the game out of reach with a pair of goals just 8 seconds apart to stretch the lead to 10-5 with 9:15 remaining in regulation time. Gallagher and Fowler led the Bishops with 2 goals apiece, while sophomore attacker Chris Ehlinger (Radnor, Pa.) had a goal and an assist. Senior Ryan Perone (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep) stopped 7 shots in 43-plus minutes in the Ohio Wesleyan goal, and freshman Jud Hall (Columbus/Upper Arlington) came on late in the third quarter and finished with 2 saves. Brody led the Bullets with 3 goals, while Dyer and Suffrin had 2 goals apiece. Charles Floeckher and Zachary Furshman combined for 4 saves in the Bullet goal. |
