Ohio Wesleyan 26, Oberlin 6

[ Harrison Iuliano ]Senior attacker Harrison Iuliano (Mendham, N.J./Blair Academy) scored 3 goals during the first quarter and Ohio Wesleyan went on to defeat Oberlin in the Bishops' North Coast Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday in Oberlin.

Sophomore midfielder Rob Young (Langhorne, Pa./Council Rock South) scored an unassisted goal to open the day's scoring before Iuliano followed with an unassisted goal just over a minute later.

Nick Thypin-Bermeo put the Yeomen on the scoreboard, but Iuliano scored the next 2 Ohio Wesleyan goals, then sophomore attacker Chris Ehlinger (Radnor, Pa.) and Young scored goals in the final 90 seconds of the first period, giving the Bishops a 6-2 lead after one quarter.

Iuliano had 2 goals during the second quarter as Ohio Wesleyan extended its lead to 12-4 at halftime, and Ehlinger had a pair of goals during an 8-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarters, helping the Bishops pull away.

Iuliano led the Bishops with 6 goals and an assist, while Ehlinger finished with 4 goals and Young added 3 goals and 4 assists. Sophomore defenseman Alex Razzolini (East Aurora, N.Y./Iroquois) scored 2 goals, tying the school single-game record for goals by a long-stick player.

Senior Ryan Perone (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep) stopped 8 shots during the first half in the Ohio Wesleyan goal. Freshman Jud Hall (Columbus/Upper Arlington) posted 3 saves during his 18 minutes of action, and freshman Andrew Busweiler (West Islip, N.Y) had 2 saves during the fourth quarter.

Thypin-Bermeo led the Yeomen with 2 goals. Drew Zambelli was credited with 27 saves in the Oberlin goal.
