Senior midfielder Nick Skoczen (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) scored with 6:02 left in regulation time as Ohio Wesleyan began defense of its North Coast Athletic Conference championship with a win over Wabash in the conference opener for both teams on Sunday in Crawfordsville, Ind.
Skoczen put the Bishops ahead to stay with his score from in front of the Wabash goal. Sophomore midfielder Will Murawski (Alpharetta, Ga./Westerville North) was credited with an assist on the play.
Ohio Wesleyan had taken a 1-0 lead on a goal by freshman forward Tyler Wall (Columbus/Upper Arlington) in the 34th minute, with sophomore midfielder Jordan Halloran (Springfield/Catholic Central) setting up the score.
The Little Giants evened the game in the 59th minute when Andrew Kapsalis scored on a restart. Mark Babcock and Gary Simkus were credited with assists on the play.
That set up Skoczen's goal in the closing minutes, the third game-winner of the season for the senior midfielder.

Wesleyan outshot Wabash, 22-9. Senior Jamison Dague (Bexley) made 2 saves for Ohio Wesleyan, while Jon Miller stopped 3 shots in the Wabash goal.
