![]() at NCAA Division III championship March 21, 2008 Sophomore David Gatz (Delaware/Hayes) won honorable mention All-America laurels in the 100 breaststroke at the second day of the NCAA Division III championship meet, hosted by the College of Wooster on Friday at Miami University's Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center in Oxford. Gatz finished ninth in the preliminaries of the 100 breaststroke. His time of :56.78 broke the school record of :57.15 he set earlier this season. In the consolation final, Gatz won the heat with a time of :56.33, further lowering the school record he set earlier in the day. With the ninth-place finish in the event, Gatz received honorable mention All-America honors, becoming the first Battling Bishop men's swimmer since 1995 to achieve that honor. Gatz is scheduled to compete in the 200 breaststroke on Saturday. |
