Sophomore David Gatz (Delaware/Hayes) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan in a dual meet against North Coast Athletic Conference foe Denison on Saturday at Pfeiffer Natatorium.

Gatz won the 200 breaststroke in 2:11.16, defeating his closest competitor by nearly 4 seconds.

The Bishop 400 freestyle relay team of senior Robert Naples (Hamden, Conn./Notre Dame), sophomore Kuang-Ting Hsu (Taipei, Taiwan/National Experimental), freshman Carleton Levert (Maple Heights) and sophomore Tyler Laws (Lewis Center/Olentangy) recorded Ohio Wesleyan's other first-place finish, winning its event in 4:19.89.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Jaimito Fuentes (Massillon/Glen Oak), who finished second in the 200 breaststroke; sophomore Nathaniel Cook (Delaware/Hayes), who was third in the 100 freestyle and the 200 breaststroke; sophomore Andrew Sisson (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe), who was third in the 1000 freestyle; Naples, who placed third in the 50 freestyle; and sophomore Usman Javaid (Lahore, Pakistan/Aitchison), who finished third in the 200 butterfly.
