![]() at Washington Invitational Nov. 17, 2007 Sophomore David Gatz (Delaware/Hayes) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Washington Invitational on Saturday in St. Louis. Lindenwood was leading the meet after the first day's competition, piling up 718 points to 674 for host Washington. Sewanee was in third place with 432 points and Ohio Wesleyan had 281 points. Gatz won the 100 breaststroke in :58.93 and added a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke. Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Kevin Fahey (Delaware/Hayes), who placed fourth in the 500 freestyle and seventh in the 200 backstroke; sophomore Jaimito Fuentes (Massillon/Glen Oak), who was fourth in the 200 breaststroke and seventh in the 100 backstroke; sophomore Christopher Potterton (Needham, Mass.), who placed sixth in the 200 freestyle; sophomore Nathaniel Cook (Delaware/Hayes), who was seventh in the 200 breaststroke and eighth in the 200 breaststroke; and sophomore Tony Wong (Cleveland/Cleveland Heights), who finished eighth in the 200 freestyle. The Ohio Wesleyan 400 medley relay team of Fahey, Cook, Gatz, and Fuentes finished second, while the 400 freestyle relay team of Fuentes, Potterton, Gatz and Fahey placed third. |
