at Denison Last Chance meet

[ David Burke ]Seven different Bishops won events at the Denison Last Chance meet on Friday in Granville.

Sophomore David Burke (Hudson) won the long jump with a leap of 21-4 and placed third in the triple jump and fourth in the high jump, sophomore Steve Brown (Redford Township, Mich./Redford) won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of :15.44 and placed third in the 200-meter dash, senior Joshua Steinke (Wapakoneta) won the discus with a throw of 137-5, sophomore Kyle Faris (Olmsted Falls) won the hammer with a throw of 134-1, junior Ryan Ellis (Columbus/Dublin Scioto) won the 200-meter dash in :11.11, freshman Sean Patrick (Delaware/Hayes) won the 200-meter dash in :22.53, and junior Preston Osborn (Edgerton) won the 400-meter hurdles in :54.68.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Jordon Exeter (Toronto, Ontario/Mercersburg (Pa.) Academy), who was second in the long jump and the 100-meter dash; sophomore Josh Sulser (Johnstown/Johnstown-Monroe), who finished second in the hammer and fourth in the shot put; freshman Jon Voiles (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), who was second in the pole vault; junior Bobby Polley (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny), who finished second in the javelin; freshman Jack Schemenauer (Luckey/Eastwood), who placed second in the 200-meter dash; junior Nathan Osborn (Edgerton), who was second in the 400-meter dash; sophomore Christian Schlabach (Wooster/Triway), who finished second in the 800-meter run; sophomore Bryce Mathias (Centerburg), who was third in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles; senior Troy Jeffrey (Centerburg), who finished third in the hammer; freshman Parone Mulrain (Chicago, Ill./Latin School), who placed third in the long jump; junior David Stefanik (Wooster), who was fourth in the 1500-meter run; and junior Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman), who placed fourth in the 3000-meter run.
