2nd of 13 at Gettysburg Invitational

[ David Stefanik ]Junior David Stefanik (Wooster) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Gettysburg Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday in Gettysburg, Pa.

Division II entity Shippensburg won the meet with 52 points to 76 for Ohio Wesleyan. The US Coast Guard Academy placed third with 79 points, followed by Grove City (108), Dickinson (123), Gettysburg (175), Johns Hopkins (231), and Davis & Elkins (252). Alderson-Broaddus rounded out the top 10 with 264 points, followed by Southern Virginia (320), Montgomery (378), Shenandoah (403) and Eastern Mennonite (426).

Stefanik finished fifth among individuals, covering the 8000-meter course in 26:42.56.

Junior Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman) finished 10th in 27:03.37, junior Gary Brenneman (Fredericktown) placed 16th in 27:10.62, junior Garret Andre-Johnson (Walnut Creek, Calif./Berkeley) followed in 17th place in 27:12.05, and sophomore Christian Schlabach (Wooster/Triway) completed the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 28th-place finish in 27:32.26.

Senior Pete MacLeod (Hudson) placed 36th in 27:50.55 and freshman John Thatcher (Centerburg) finished 43rd in 27:59.29.
