13th of 34 at NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional

[ David Stefanik ]Junior David Stefanik (Wooster) led Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional championship meet, hosted by Calvin College on Saturday in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Host Calvin won the meet with 27 points, outdistancing runner-up Ohio Northern's total of 114. Anderson finished third with 125 points, followed by Heidelberg (128), Mount Union (143), DePauw and Tri-State (184), Case Reserve (193) and Denison (270). Kenyon rounded out the top 10 team finishers with 290 points, followed by Otterbein (315), Wabash (335) and Ohio Wesleyan (359).

Stefanik finished 39th among individuals, covering the 8000-meter course in 26:00.35.

Junior Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman) finished 54th in 26:15.15, junior Gary Brenneman (Fredericktown) placed 67th in 26:32.60, junior Garret Andre-Johnson (Walnut Creek, Calif./Berkeley) was 96th in 26:50.25 and junior Alex Havran (Woodinville, Wash./Overlake) completed the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 103rd-place finish in 26:53.45.

Sophomore Christian Schlabach (Wooster/Triway) finished 112th in a time of 27:00.70, and senior Pete MacLeod (Hudson) was 114th in 27:05.05.
