Bishops' Bloom, Gallagher, Shaffer, Stefanik
Named NCAC Players of Week

March 31, 2008

DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University junior Andrew Bloom (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne), junior Nick Gallagher (Columbus/Dublin Scioto), senior Ashley Shaffer (Lancaster) and junior David Stefanik (Wooster) have been named North Coast Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week for the week of March 31, it was announced by the NCAC.

Bloom, a member of the Battling Bishop men's track & field team, was named NCAC Men's Field Event Performer of the Week. He won the decathlon at the Rhodes Invitational on Saturday, scoring a total of 5708 points.

Gallagher, an attacker on the Bishop men's lacrosse team, was named NCAC Player of the Week. He compiled a goal and 2 assists during a 4-0 run that helped Ohio Wesleyan seal a non-conference win over Elizabethtown on Saturday. Gallagher opened the week with 2 goals and an assist in a non-conference win over Adrian on Wednesday.

Shaffer, a member of the Bishop women's track & field team, was named NCAC Women's Field Event Performer of the Week. She finished second in the heptathlon at the Rhodes Invitational on Saturday.

Stefanik, a member of the Bishop men's track & field team, was named NCAC Men's Middle Distance/Distance Runner of the Week. He finished second in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Rhodes Invitational on Saturday.
