Named NCAC Players of Week

DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore Steve Brown (Redford Township, Mich./Redford) and sophomore Rachel Seibel (Johnstown/Johnstown-Monroe) have been named North Coast Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week for the week of April 14, it was announced by the NCAC.

Brown, a member of the Battling Bishop men's track & field team, was named NCAC Men's Sprinter/Hurdler of the Week. He placed second in the 110-meter hurdles, helping Ohio Wesleyan win the team title at the All-Ohio Division III championship meet on Saturday.

Seibel, a pitcher-outfielder on the Bishop softball team, repeated as NCAC Pitcher of the Week. She won both games in a doubleheader sweep of Denison on Thursday, striking out 9 and walking 2 in an 8-inning complete game in the opener; then coming on in relief and working the final 5.0 innings, striking out 4 and walking none, to pick up the win in the nightcap. She also pitched the complete game in the opener of Ohio Wesleyan's doubleheader at Allegheny on Saturday. On the week, she was 2-1 with a 1.84 ERA, allowing 14 hits in 19.0 innings while striking out 16 and walking 2.
