Bishops' Bloom, Fouts
Named NCAC Players of Week

[ Andrew Bloom ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University junior Andrew Bloom (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne) and senior Julia Fouts (Cleveland Heights/Hathaway Brown) have been named North Coast Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week for the week of April 28, it was announced by the NCAC.

Bloom was named NCAC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week. He set a school record in repeating as the NCAC decathlon champion, compiling 5804 points to shatter the school record of 5770 set by Justin Blackburn in 2006. Bloom had best efforts of the meet in the 100-meter dash (:11.44), the long jump (19-8 1/4), the high jump (5-10 1/2), and the 110-meter hurdles (:15.56).

Fouts, an attacker on the Bishop women's lacrosse team, was named NCAC Player of the Week. She scored to put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay and finished with 2 goals as the Bishops defeated Wooster, 13-12, on Wednesday, overcoming a 6-0 deficit in doing so. Fouts then had 3 goals and an assist during a 9-0 run that put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay in a 13-7 win over Denison on Saturday. With the win, Ohio Wesleyan clinched the No. 1 seed in this week's NCAC tournament and will host the tournament for the second straight season.
