
Bishops' Scharf, Shinn Named

OHIO -- Ohio
Wesleyan University senior Jaime Scharf (Marion/River Valley) and sophomore
Sarah Shinn (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) have been named North Coast
Athletic Conference Players of the Week for the week of Sept. 4, it was
announced by the NCAC.
Scharf, a libero on the Ohio Wesleyan volleyball team, was named the tournament's
Most Valuable Player at Ohio Wesleyan's Bishop Invitational. She compiled
92 digs during the Bishops' 15 games, an average of 6.13 per contest,
as Ohio Wesleyan went 2-2 and reached the championship match for the third
straight season.
Shinn, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan women's cross country team, led the
Bishops at the Dayton Meijer Flyer 5K on Saturday. Shinn finished second
among College Division individuals, clocking a time of 19:34 for the 5000-meter
course.
