Named NCAC Players of Week

[ Lindsey Macklin ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University senior Lindsey Macklin (Columbus/Bexley) and junior David Stefanik (Wooster) have been named North Coast Athletic Conference Players of the Week for the week of Sept. 17, it was announced by the NCAC.

Macklin, a defender on the Ohio Wesleyan women's soccer team, scored 2 goals, including the game-winner in the second overtime, as the Bishops defeated Mount St. Joseph, 3-2, on Thursday. Macklin scored to erase a 1-0 deficit, then hit the game-winner early in the second overtime. She then was part of an Ohio Wesleyan defense that kept DePauw off the scoreboard for nearly 85 minutes while the Bishops built a 3-0 lead in a 3-1 non-conference win on Saturday.

Stefanik, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's cross country team, led the Bishops at the Mel Brodt Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green State University on Saturday. Stefanik finished 34th among individuals, covering the 8000-meter course in 26:29.97. Ohio Wesleyan was the only NCAA Division III team competing in the meet.
