Bishops' Dague, Dennis Named NCAC Players of Week

[ Zach Dennis ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University seniors Zach Dennis (Jefferson) and Jamison Dague (Bexley) have been named North Coast Athletic Conference Players of the Week for the week of Nov. 5, it was announced by the NCAC.

Dague, the goalkeeper on the Battling Bishop men's soccer team, compiled 6 saves in a scoreless tie with Wittenberg in a semifinal contest of the NCAC tournament on Wednesday. Dague then had 1 save in Ohio Wesleyan's 1-0 win over Allegheny in the NCAC tournament championship game on Saturday. Ohio Wesleyan will advance to the NCAA Division III tournament beginning this week.

Dennis, a split end on the Battling Bishop football team, was named Offensive Player of the Week. He caught a 51-yard pass on the first play from scrimmage to set up a Bishop touchdown, and later scored on a 5-yard run. Dennis finished with 10 catches for 219 yards, recording the Bishops' first 200-yard receiving performance since Joe Clinton caught 8 passes for 248 yards against Allegheny on Nov. 10, 2001. Dennis' 219 receiving yards also ranks fourth on the Ohio Wesleyan single-game list.
