Sophomore outfielder Sarah Cook (Sidney/Fairlawn) singled in a run that erased a 1-0 deficit, but Curry pushed across a run in the ninth inning to edge Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday in Cape Coral, Fla.
Curry had taken a 1-0 lead in the second, but the Bishops evened the score in the fourth as sophomore first baseman Catrice Mayweather (Lewis Center/Olentangy) smacked a double and scored on Cook's single. Sophomore second baseman Devon Walker (Baltimore/Watkins Memorial) followed with a single, but Curry was able to get out of the inning without any further damage.
Freshman outfielder Tara VanVranken (North Canton/Massillon Jackson) was 3-for-4 with a double to highlight the Bishop offense. Cook and Walker each went 2-for-3 for Ohio Wesleyan.
Sophomore lefthander Rachel Seibel (Johnstown/Johnstown-Monroe) pitched the complete game for the Bishops, striking out 10.
