Brockport State 6, Ohio Wesleyan 2

March 15, 2008

Brockport State rallied for 4 runs in the top of the sixth to defeat Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday in Cape Coral, Fla.

The Golden Eagles pushed across a run in the top of the first, but the Bishops came back to take the lead in the bottom of the second as sophomore outfielder Sarah Cook (Sidney/Fairlawn) and freshman catcher Sarah Truchan (Brunswick) opened the inning with singles. Sophomore second baseman Devon Walker (Baltimore/Watkins Memorial) followed with a single to plate Cook, and sophomore shortstop Amanda Sanders (Lima/Bath) later scored Truchan with a sacrifice fly.

Brockport State took advantage of 3 walks and 3 errors in the sixth, and tacked on an insurance run in the seventh.

Cook went 2-for-3 with a run scored to highlight the Bishop offense.

Sophomore lefthander Rachel Seibel (Johnstown/Johnstown-Monroe) pitched the complete game for the Bishops, striking out 7.
