Senior outside hitter Steffi Graf (Poland/Seminary) and senior outside hitter Stefanie McCoy (Powell/Olentangy) turned in double-digit performances in kills to lead Ohio Wesleyan on the first day of the annual Bishop Invitational on Friday at Branch Rickey Arena.

In the tournament's opening match, Ohio Wesleyan blanked Lake Erie by scores of 30-18, 30-23, 30-24, and the Bishops defeated Bethany by scores of 30-14, 30-27, 30-18.

The Bishop Invitational continues on Saturday at Branch Rickey Arena, with play beginning at 9 a.m.

Graf pounded out 14 kills with only one error in the opener against Lake Erie. Junior middle hitter Katie Hamilton (Hilliard/Darby) added 7 kills and junior middle hitter Janna Dagley (Beavercreek) had 6 kills.

Hamilton led the Bishops with 2 blocks, junior setter Shea Pence (Danville, Ind./Danville Community) dished out 25 assists, and Graf and senior libero Jaime Scharf (Marion/River Valley) shared the team lead with 25 digs apiece.

Against Bethany, McCoy led the way with 15 kills with only one error. Hamilton and senior middle hitter Kelli Lester (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) had 7 kills apiece, with Hamilton also recording a team-leading 4 blocks.

Pence led Ohio Wesleyan with 33 assists and Scharf had 24 digs.
