Senior outside hitter Stefanie McCoy (Powell/Olentangy) and senior outside hitter Steffi Graf (Poland/Seminary) led Ohio Wesleyan during the first day of the Centre College Classic, hosted by Centre College on Saturday in Danville, Ky.

Spalding defeated Ohio Wesleyan by scores of 30-25, 30-22, 30-23, while Hanover defeated the Bishops by scores of 30-16, 30-24, 31-29.

McCoy led the Bishops with 10 kills and Graf added 7 kills and shared the team lead with 18 digs against Spalding. Junior setter Shea Pence (Danville, Ind./Danville Community) contributed 18 assists, senior middle hitter Kelli Lester (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) led the Bishops with 6 blocks, freshman middle hitter Stacey Tighe (Lewis Center/Olentangy) added 5 blocks, and senior libero Jaime Scharf (Marion/River Valley) shared the Bishop lead with 18 digs.

Against Hanover, Graf led the way with 8 kills and McCoy collected 7. Graf also led the Bishops with 3 service aces and 19 digs and shared the team lead with 4 blocks. Pence had a team-high 19 assists and Tighe also shared the team lead with 4 blocks.
