![]() Kenyon 57, Ohio Wesleyan 54 Feb. 2, 2008 Kenyon had broken a 42-42 tie with a 3-pointer from Anne Dugan and a jumper by Eva George, but the Bishops rallied to tie the game at 47-47 as freshman post Kayla Gordon (St. Louis, Mo./Mehlville) sank a jumper and Gordon, senior post Kelli Lester (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) and senior wing Steffi Graf (Poland/Seminary) each hit a free throw, with Graf's charity toss evening the score with 4:50 to go. Graf and Moreno then traded a 3-pointer and a basket apiece, with Graf's 3-pointer tying the game at 52-52 with 2:44 to play. Kenyon broke the tie on Laurel Stokes's basket with 1:41 remaining, only to see Quigney hit the game-tying bucket from the lane. After Moreno's 3-pointer put Kenyon ahead, senior wing Lindsey Macklin (Columbus/Bexley) misfired on a game-tying 3-point try, and Dugan cleared the rebound for Kenyon. Dugan was fouled and missed the front end of the one-and-one, giving Ohio Wesleyan another shot at a game-tying 3-pointer, but Gordon and Graf were not able to connect from outside the arc. Ohio Wesleyan opened the game with a 7-0 run, with Gordon hitting a pair of jumpers and Graf drilling a 3-pointer, and the Bishops extended the lead to 12-2 on a jumper and a 3-pointer by Macklin. The Bishops led by a 20-7 margin after Gordon and Graf hit 3-pointers just under 7 minutes into the contest, but the Ladies got back into the game with an 8-0 run that included a pair of Dugan 3-pointers. Ohio Wesleyan threatened to run away with the game once more, taking a 35-23 lead with 4:27 left in the first half as senior guard Kathleen Cooper (Columbus/Upper Arlington) contributed a lay-in and a 3-pointer, but Kenyon rallied again, closing the half with an 8-1 run that included 3 straight baskets from George in the paint. The Ladies continued their hot streak to open the second half, getting back-to-back jumpers from Dugan to shave the deficit to a single point. Gordon ended the Bishop drought with a jumper at the 16:48 mark, and added another just over a minute later to give Ohio Wesleyan a 40-35 lead, but Kenyon tied the game at 40-40 with a lay-in by Kat Powers, a free throw from George and a putback by Kathleen Williams with 12:41 to play, and the teams would trade points until the final minute. Gordon led the Bishops with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Graf finished with 14 points and Quigney added 10 points. Cooper and Macklin shared the Bishop lead with 4 assists apiece.
