![]() Thomas More 75, Ohio Wesleyan 45 Nov. 16, 2007 Ohio Wesleyan will face Dubuque in the tournament's consolation game at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Host Wilmington defeated Dubuque, 82-69, in Friday's opening game. The Saints had taken an 8-4 lead on Caitlyn Mauch's jumper exactly 6 minutes into the game before Cooper's 3-pointer brought the Bishops to within 8-7. Alex Gee hit a 3-pointer for Thomas More, and Jennifer Teski followed with a fast break lay-in for a 13-7 lead. Junior post Katie Hamilton (Hilliard/Darby) hit a free throw and freshman guard Pam Quigney (Mentor) buried a 3-pointer as Ohio Wesleyan rallied to within 15-11, but the Saints scored the next 17 points, with Gee sinking a pair of 3-pointers and another basket during that run, to take a 32-11 lead with 5:57 left in the first half. Freshman post Kayla Gordon (St. Louis, Mo./Mehlville) and junior post Laurel Lawson (Navarre/Fairless) converted 3-point plays as the Bishops opened the second half with a 7-2 run to close within 45-29, but that was as close as Ohio Wesleyan would come. Lawson led the Bishops with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Senior post Malley Adamsky (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) had a team-high 2 assists. Jayme Thiem led Thomas More with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Gee finished with 16 points and Nicole Dickman scored 12 points. |
