Ohio Wesleyan 12, Colby-Sawyer 7

[ Julia Fouts ]Senior attacker Julia Fouts (Cleveland Heights/Hathaway Brown) scored 3 straight goals to break a 6-6 tie and put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay and the Bishops went on to a non-conference win over Colby-Sawyer on Friday in Wellington, Fla.

Sarah McRoberts staked the Chargers to an early 1-0 lead, but Ohio Wesleyan reeled off goals by sophomore attacker Elizabeth Lambert (Alexandria, Va.), senior midfielder Alexa Deaton (Eden, Md./Mercersburg Academy) and sophomore midfielder Sarah Teigen (North Oaks, Minn./Totino-Grace) to take a 3-1 lead.

The Chargers tied the game with scores from Elaina Kennedy and Tara Stewart, and after senior midfielder Kadi Kuhlenberg (Cincinnati/Anderson) and Stewart traded goals, the score was tied at 4-4 with just over 10 minutes left in the first half.

Kuhlenberg's free position goal with 5:53 left in the half put the Bishops up, 5-4, and Fouts added a goal 30 seconds later to give Ohio Wesleyan a 6-4 lead at halftime.

Colby-Sawyer opened the second half with a free position goal by Lisa Giordano and an unassisted score by Allicia Murphy, evening the game at 6-6 just over 6 minutes into the period.

Fouts notched an unassisted goal to put the Bishops ahead to stay, scored off a Teigen assist just 30 seconds later, and scored on a free position shot midway through the half to give the Bishops a 9-6 lead.

Fouts led the Bishops with 4 goals, while Kuhlenberg scored 2 goals. Senior Maggie Eichenlaub (Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper) had 11 saves for Ohio Wesleyan.

Stewart led the Chargers with 3 goals. Megan Sievert recorded 6 saves in the Colby-Sawyer goal.
