[ Hannah Mudge ]Junior attacker Hannah Mudge (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's School) scored twice during a 6-0 run that put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay, and twice more during a 7-0 run later in the first half that put the game out of reach as the Bishops defeated Adrian in non-conference play on Saturday at Selby Field.

The Bulldogs took an early 1-0 lead on a score by Mariana DiGiovanni just 90 seconds into the game.

Ohio Wesleyan answered with a goal by Mudge off a pass from senior attacker Julia Fouts (Cleveland Heights/Hathaway Brown) less than a minute later, then took the lead when Mudge scored courtesy of a pass from senior midfielder Kadi Kuhlenberg (Cincinnati/Anderson).

Sophomore midfielder Haleigh Rohr (Nelson, N.H./Northfield Mt. Hermon (Mass.)) followed with a goal, Kuhlenberg converted a free position shot, and senior midfielder Alexa Deaton (Eden, Md./Mercersburg Academy) scored a goal and set up Fouts for another goal that stretched the Ohio Wesleyan lead to 6-1 just over 8 minutes into the game.

Adrian closed to within 6-3 on scores by DiGiovanni and Ashley Starkey, but the Bishops answered with a 7-0 burst that included 2 goals and an assist by Mudge as well as a goal and 2 assists from Deaton.

Mudge led the Bishops with 6 goals and 4 assists. Senior attacker Polly Burke (Milton, Mass.) scored 5 goals, Deaton finished with 4 goals and 3 assists, and Fouts and Kuhlenberg each contributed 2 goals and an assist.

Senior Maggie Eichenlaub (Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper) had 7 saves in the first 54-plus minutes of the game, and sophomore Natalie D'Antonio (White Hall, Md./St. Paul's School) finished up in the Ohio Wesleyan goal.

DiGiovanni led the Bulldogs with 4 goals. Amanda Faraone finished with 7 saves for Adrian.
