at NCAC championship

[ Katherine Donnan ]Sophomore Erin Hanahan (Madison/Perry) and senior Katherine Donnan (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) turned in top-10 finishes to lead Ohio Wesleyan on the first day of the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet on Thursday in Canton.

After the first day of competition, Kenyon was leading the meet with 539 points to 441 for Denison. Allegheny was in third place with 213 1/2 points, followed by Wooster (177 1/2), Oberlin (159), Wittenberg (117), Hiram (115) and Ohio Wesleyan (108).

Hanahan placed fifth in the 3-meter diving event, while Donnan finished ninth in the 3-meter diving.

Other standouts for the Bishops included senior Natalie Cuevas (Chicago, Ill./Latin School), who finished 11th in the 3-meter diving; sophomore Kendra Klossner (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley), who was 15th in the 50 freestyle; senior Kara Roby (Massillon/Washington), who placed 22nd in the 200 IM; and senior Rachel Ryan (Kinnelon, N.J.), who finished 24th in the 50 freestyle.

The Bishop 200 freestyle relay team of Klossner, junior Katie Keleshian (Richmond Heights/Regina), Roby and Ryan finished seventh, as did the 400 medley relay team of junior Meghan Warren (Marlton, N.J./Shawnee), freshman Brenna Irrer (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), freshman Marisa Obuchowski (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville) and Ryan.

The NCAC championship meet continues on Friday in Canton.
