at NCAC championship

[ Kendra Klossner ]Sophomore Kendra Klossner (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) recorded Ohio Wesleyan's top individual finish to lead the Bishops on the second day of the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet on Friday in Canton.

After the second day of competition, Kenyon was leading the meet with 1099 points to 1044 for Denison. Wooster was in third place with 502 1/2 points, followed by Allegheny (477 1/2), Oberlin (398), Wittenberg (387), Hiram (309) and Ohio Wesleyan (291).

Klossner finished 12th in the 100 backstroke.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Marisa Obuchowski (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville), who was 14th in the 100 breaststroke and 21st in the 400 IM; senior Kara Roby (Massillon/Washington), who placed 14th in the 400 IM; freshman Brenna Irrer (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), who finished 15th in the 400 IM and 17th in the 100 breaststroke; junior Katie Keleshian (Richmond Heights/Regina), who placed 15th in the 100 backstroke; junior Caitlin Hagen (East Lyme, Conn.), who was 19th in the 100 breaststroke; junior Meghan Warren (Marlton, N.J./Shawnee), who placed 21st in the 100 backstroke and 24th in the 400 IM; junior Megan Downing (Mentor/Gilmour Academy), who finished 21st in the 100 breaststroke; and junior Tarenne Ferenchak (Haddonfield, N.J.), who was 23rd in the 400 IM.

The Bishop 200 medley relay team of Keleshian, Downing, senior Rachel Ryan (Kinnelon, N.J.) and Klossner finished eighth, as did the 800 freestyle relay team of Klossner, Warren, Keleshian and Roby.

The NCAC championship meet concludes on Saturday in Canton.
