Ohio Wesleyan 5, Earlham 1

[ Erin Cohn ]Freshman Erin Cohn (Highland Heights/Andrews Osborne) and freshman Pam Quigney (Mentor) were double winners for Ohio Wesleyan as the Bishops defeated Earlham in a consolation bracket semifinal match of the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament on Friday in Oberlin.

Ohio Wesleyan will face Wittenberg in the fifth-place match at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Cohn and Quigney won in straight sets at No. 6 and No. 5 singles respectively, with Cohn blanking her Quaker opponent by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Earlier, they had combined for an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

Senior Katie Figgie (Pepper Pike/Gilmour Academy) won in straight sets at No. 1 singles, and senior Kristen Carney (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) and sophomore Mollie Campbell (Burlington, Vt.) won at No. 2 doubles to round out the Ohio Wesleyan scoring.
