at ITA Central Region Tournament

Seniors Kristen Carney (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) and Kirsten Pfund (Libertyville, Ill.) represented Ohio Wesleyan at the ITA Central Region tournament, hosted by DePauw University on Friday through Sunday in Greencastle, Ind.

In singles play, Carney defeated Tina Chen from Case Reserve in the first round, 6-4, 6-4, before falling to Kara Zdanowski of Denison, 6-1, 6-0, in the second round.

Pfund lost to Rachel Randall of Ohio Northern, 6-1, 6-0, in the first round of the championship bracket and was defeated by Hillary Rechel of Wittenberg, 4-6, 6-2, 10-3, in the second round of the back draw.

Carney and Pfund also competed in doubles, defeating Angela Parry-Lemon and Madison Basch of Hanover, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, in the first round before falling to Sallie Crawford and Greer Mackie of host DePauw, 6-2, 6-0, in the second round.
