Ohio Wesleyan was third with 140 points, followed by Alma (73), Mississippi College (68), Rose-Hulman (65), Hendrix (35), Aurora (32) and Dallas (24). Fisk and Centre tied for 10th place with 17 points, followed by Sewanee (14), Principia (10) and Birmingham Southern (2). Everhart won the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:53.17 and added a fourth in the 800-meter run, while Cocumelli won the 100-meter hurdles in :16.91. Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Sharon Rymut (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), who was second in the discus and the hammer; freshman Rachael Newman (Strongsville), who placed second in the 800-meter run; senior Ashley Shaffer (Lancaster), who was second in the heptathlon; junior Laura Binkley (Columbus/Bishop Watterson), who placed third in the 5000-meter run; sophomore Casey Ridgeway (Fredericktown), who was third in the 100-meter dash; sophomore Kara Reiter (Chardon); who placed third in the 800-meter run; freshman Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane), who was third in the 3000-meter steeplechase; junior Jessica Merrill (Columbia Station/Columbia), who placed third in the heptathlon; junior Leah Schmelzer (Marion/Pleasant), who finished fourth in the 5000-meter run; junior Valerie Sloboda (Columbia, Md./Atholton), who was fourth in the 1500-meter run; senior Donna Langerfeld (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill), who was fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase; freshman Lainey Kekic (Canfield/Western Reserve), who was fourth in the heptathlon; sophomore Amber Alegria ( Tucson, Ariz./Salpointe Catholic), who placed fifth in the 400-meter dash; and sophomore Santa Zalite (Winston-Salem, N.C./Reynolds), who was fifth in the 800-meter run. |
