at Denison Last Chance meet

[ Sharon Rymut ]Sophomore Sharon Rymut (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) won 2 events for Ohio Wesleyan at the Denison Last Chance meet on Saturday in Granville.

The meet was not scored.

Rymut won the discus with a throw of 123-6 and won the hammer with an effort of 121-8.

Also winning events for Ohio Wesleyan were freshman Christa Cocumelli (Dublin/Bishop Watterson), who won the 100-meter hurdles in :16.58; sophomore Casey Ridgeway (Fredericktown), who won the 200-meter dash in :26.19; and sophomore Amber Alegria (Tucson, Ariz./Salpointe Catholic), who won the 400-meter dash in 1:03.83.

Other standouts for the Bishops included senior Caitlin Dugre (Longmeadow, Mass.), who finished second in the javelin; sophomore Ashlie Britton (LeRoy/Painesville Riverside), who was second in the 100-meter hurdles; junior Valerie Sloboda (Columbia, Md./Atholton), who placed second in the 800-meter run; senior Donna Langerfeld (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill), who was second in the 3000-meter run; sophomore Amy Herrington (Vermilion), who was third in the hammer and the shot put; freshman Tara Adams (Canton/North Canton Hoover), who finished third in the pole vault and fourth in the 400-meter hurdles; freshman Laura Packard (Mount Vernon), who was third in the 100-meter hurdles; sophomore Hannah Winant (Gaithersburg, Md.), who placed third in the 800-meter run; freshman Jesi Dackin (Reynoldsburg), who finished third in the 3000-meter run; and sophomore Emily Washek (Erie, Pa./McDowell), who was fourth in the pole vault.
