![]() at NCAC heptathlon April 26, 2008 Allegheny's Emily Pfeufer was leading the event with 2512 points to 2488 for Oberlin's Madeline Schultz. Merrill was a close third with 2458 points, with Shaffer right behind at 2440 points. Merrill clocked a :16.02 in the 100-meter hurdles, the fastest individual time in the event. She cleared 4-11 1/2 in the high jump, turned in a 29-8 1/4 in the shot put and finished the 200-meter dash in :27.79. Shaffer, the defending NCAC champion in the heptathlon, finished the 100-meter hurdles in :17.07, shared the best high jump of the event by clearing 5-1 3/4, had a 27-6 in the shot put and had the day's best time in the 200-meter dash with a :26.83. The heptathlon competition concludes on Sunday with the long jump, javelin and 800-meter run. |
