1st of 4 at Dayton Meijer Flyer 5K

Sophomore Sarah Shinn (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Dayton Meijer Flyer 5K on Saturday at Indian Riffle Park in Dayton.

Ohio Wesleyan won the College Division meet with 25 points to 30 for Northern Kentucky. Wittenberg finished with 83 points and Rio Grande did not post a team score.

Shinn finished second among College Division individuals, clocking a time of 19:34 for the 5000-meter course.

Junior Leah Schmelzer (Marion/Pleasant) finished fourth in 19:50, sophomore Claire Everhart (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) placed fifth in 20:11, freshman Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) was sixth in 20:12, and freshman Jesi Dackin (Reynoldsburg) wrapped up the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with an eighth-place finish in 20:14.

Junior Laura Binkley (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) placed 11th in 20:34 and sophomore Kara Reiter (Chardon) finished 12th in 20:44.
